Sicilian wines have (not all of course) some particular defects typical, or better, have features that I consider to be defects because they are not part of my taste in wine. For example is alcohol excessively and have a terribly annoying tannin, often caused by overuse of wood. Here, this wine clearly distances itself from this situation. The tannin is practically nonexistent, and for one simple reason: So, this excellent producer in Sicily, the wood does not even use a little '. Pythos fact aged in amphorae terracotta. That's right, the wine is aged in 400 liter jars and did not end here: this company can certainly be counted among the fully biodynamic. It uses only natural yeasts and the wine is free of foreign substances of any kind.
The result of this attention you see. Pythos is the union of Nero d'Avola (60%) and frappato of Victoria (40%), two grape very powerful, difficult to harness without a bomb exploding in alcohol. The farm and what we can but very, very well.
The color is beautiful, a reddish hue, not the dark, almost black, typical of Sicilian wines. The nose is delicate and harmonious red fruits and a bit 'of tobacco in his mouth but is reserving the most beautiful surprise: light but firm, very well balanced and the alcohol is practically nonexistent. It drinks really easily and never fails. Loved the final but more especially a long one. The
really know what pussy? Drink a glass of pythos on the couch while reading an article by David Garland ( "criminal abuse and excess of meaning. The public torture lynchings in America as the twentieth century" ) and cold outside. Very nice.
